Yellow Cat Story 57: We Need to Talk

Yellow Cat Story 57 begins with Yellow approaching Boss with a serious complaint.

“Boss… we need to talk.”

This was not an ordinary conversation. Yellow looked like a man who had suffered a terrible injustice and had finally decided to report it to the authorities.

The problem was Black.

Wherever Yellow went, Black followed him.

Yellow could walk down the street, visit his favorite places, or simply disappear for a few innocent hours—and somewhere nearby, Black’s surveillance system would activate.

For Yellow, enough was enough.

A Serious Violation of Privacy

Yellow explained his situation carefully.

A cat needs freedom.

A cat needs privacy.

And most importantly, a cat occasionally needs to conduct some very important private business without being followed by Black’s ground and air surveillance units.

Boss listened.

Yellow continued presenting his case like a lawyer defending the basic constitutional rights of cats everywhere.

The argument was surprisingly convincing.

At least until Boss started asking questions.

Boss Investigates the Complaint

Boss knew Yellow well enough to understand that the phrase “important business” required further investigation.

What kind of business?

Where was this business conducted?

And why did it so often seem to involve disappearing from home?

Suddenly, Yellow’s complaint about Black began to sound less like a privacy issue and more like evidence.

The complainant was slowly becoming the suspect.

This was not going according to Yellow’s plan.

The Wine Bar Problem

There was also another small detail.

Yellow wanted the freedom to enjoy a quiet drink.

Perfectly reasonable.

Except that whenever Yellow mentioned wine, mysterious women, late nights, or “private business,” Black’s investigation somehow became much more interested.

Yellow insisted these things were completely unrelated.

Boss was not entirely convinced.

Neither was Black.

Probably nobody was.

Except Yellow.

Yellow Says Too Much

Then Boss asked the dangerous question.

The kind of question that can destroy an entire defense strategy in seconds.

Yellow froze.

All that confidence disappeared.

The speech about freedom was over.

The complaint about surveillance was forgotten.

And the important private business suddenly became extremely private.

“Shh… who told you that?”

Case closed.

Yellow went to Boss hoping to stop Black’s investigation.

Instead, he accidentally confirmed that Black had something worth investigating. 😹
