Black Is Still Missing
Yellow Cat Story 71 begins with Black still nowhere to be found.
Yellow tells Boss that he has already searched the usual places.
The wine bar street.
The fried food shop.
Even the church.
Nothing.
For a moment, Yellow almost sounds genuinely worried.
But then he admits that Black’s absence does have one small advantage.
His face is finally safe from her claws.
Is Yellow Really Worried?
Yellow tries to explain that Black may be hiding somewhere, regretting what happened at the wine bar.
After all, she caused a scene.
Madam got shouted at.
The pretty new girl got caught in the middle.
Yellow sounds thoughtful.
Concerned, even.
Then Boss asks one dangerous question.
Is Yellow really worried about Black?
Or is he simply waiting for an opportunity?
Yellow pauses.
For once, there is no long excuse.
He only wonders why Boss understands him so quickly.
That silence says enough.
The Household Is Falling Apart
A few days later, Black still has not returned.
Now Yellow’s concern has become much more dramatic.
He tells Boss that the household is becoming unstable.
A family needs order.
A home needs responsibility.
And according to Yellow, Black is failing both.
The speech sounds almost respectable.
Until Yellow explains that he has a lot of business to take care of.
Important business.
Very important business.
And Black’s absence is ruining his schedule.
Boss Gives Yellow a Job
Boss finally tells Yellow the obvious.
If Black has been missing for days, go find her.
Yellow suddenly becomes much quieter.
The responsibility sounded reasonable when it belonged to someone else.
Now it has become actual work.
He thinks about it.
He agrees.
Then he remembers something urgent.
Food.
Yellow decides that searching for Black on an empty stomach would be irresponsible.
Possibly dangerous.
Maybe even against company policy.
Yellow Has His Priorities
So the final situation is clear.
Black is missing.
Yellow may have found an opportunity.
The household is supposedly in crisis.
There is important business waiting somewhere outside.
And Yellow has been given one simple mission:
Find Black.
Naturally, Yellow has already reorganized the mission.
First, dinner.
Then the search.
Then, presumably, business.
Yellow is deeply worried about Black.
Just not deeply enough to search before eating. 😹
