Yellow Cat Story 62: Nothing to Do but Sleep
Yellow Cat Story 62 begins with Boss finding Yellow looking unusually miserable.
“Yellow… what are you doing here? Did you eat?”
Yellow barely reacts.
This is suspicious.
Normally, Yellow has somewhere to go, somebody to meet, or some urgent “private business” requiring his immediate attention.
Today?
Nothing.
Boss looks at him again.
“Why do you look so miserable? Feeling lonely again?”
Yellow has apparently lost interest in the world.
“I think I’ll sleep for a while.”
A tragic end to a once-promising businessman.
The Career Is Temporarily Closed
Only yesterday, Yellow was complaining that Black was interfering with his career.
It sounded important.
International, perhaps.
There were meetings to attend, confidential business to conduct, and apparently an entire economy depending on Yellow being allowed to leave the house.
But now the great businessman is lying around doing nothing.
No meetings.
No private business.
No strictly business.
Just sleep.
Perhaps Yellow’s mysterious company has finally gone bankrupt.
Boss, however, has one piece of information.
Boss Mentions a New Girl
Boss casually mentions something Madam said.
There is a new girl.
And apparently…
she is very pretty.
Suddenly, something happens.
Yellow’s eyes change.
His brain reconnects.
His internal systems begin coming back online.
“Boss… seriously?”
Yes, Yellow.
Seriously.
A few seconds earlier, this cat was preparing for an afternoon nap.
Now he looks ready for an emergency board meeting.
Madam’s Phone Calls Finally Make Sense
Then Yellow remembers something important.
“So that’s why Madam kept calling me!”
Ah.
Of course.
The mystery has been solved.
Apparently, Madam had been trying to contact Yellow, and until this exact moment, he had absolutely no idea why.
Now that a pretty new girl has been mentioned, everything suddenly makes perfect sense.
This is remarkable investigative work.
Black may require ground surveillance, air surveillance, witnesses, and neighborhood intelligence.
Yellow only needs three words:
Pretty. New. Girl.
Case solved.
Yellow Returns to Business
The tired Yellow is gone.
The lonely Yellow is gone.
Even the Yellow who wanted to sleep has disappeared.
In his place stands a highly motivated professional ready to return to his mysterious career.
Yesterday, Yellow demanded protection for his business.
Today, Boss accidentally provided a new business opportunity.
And judging by Yellow’s eyes, market conditions are excellent.
“…Everywhere?”
Nobody has ever clearly explained what Yellow’s job actually is.
But we have finally discovered his company’s recruitment policy.
One pretty new girl—and Yellow is immediately back in business. 😹
