Yellow’s Big Romantic Confidence
In Yellow Cat Story 28, Black finally asks the one question Yellow did not prepare for: The promised lady is nowhere to be seen, but Yellow refuses to admit that he may have been stood up.
Instead, he sits there with the confidence of a cat who believes every woman in the neighborhood is secretly interested in him. According to Yellow, she is probably late because she is nervous, shy, or overwhelmed by his charm.
There is only one small problem: no one is coming.
Black Arrives With Questions
Black eventually appears and finds Yellow still waiting. She does not offer sympathy. She simply looks at the empty meeting place, then at Yellow, and begins the interrogation.
“Where is she?”
Yellow quickly straightens himself and explains that nothing has gone wrong. The mysterious lady definitely wants him. She is probably just delayed by some urgent matter—or perhaps she needs more time to prepare herself before meeting such an important cat.
Black listens quietly. That is usually when Yellow should start worrying.
Yellow Protects His Pride
Yellow insists that he has not been rejected. In his version of the story, the woman is probably hiding nearby, gathering the courage to approach him. Perhaps she saw him waiting and became too excited. Perhaps she fainted. Yellow has several explanations, and none of them involve admitting the obvious.
Black looks around once more. The street is empty, the meeting place is silent, and Yellow has been waiting alone long enough to become part of the scenery.
Still, Yellow keeps his head high. A gentleman does not get stood up, he explains. A gentleman simply waits longer than expected.
The Madam’s Final Verdict
Black finally asks the one question Yellow did not prepare for:
“Who told you she wanted you—the wine bar Madam?”
Yellow freezes.
A moment ago, he had explanations for everything: traffic, shyness, nervousness, even the overwhelming power of his own charm. But the Madam’s name changes the entire situation.
Perhaps the invitation was only friendly advice. Perhaps the new lady never knew about the date. Or perhaps Yellow created the whole romance while sitting alone and waiting.
Black does not need another question. Yellow’s silence has already answered everything.
