Yellow had been waiting for the Lipstick Girl for days. She usually arrived in a red car, but lately there had been no familiar engine sound, no gentle smile, and no sign of her anywhere.
Then one day, Boss found Yellow wandering around a blue car near the house. He looked unusually hopeful, as if he had finally discovered a clue. Perhaps the Lipstick Girl had returned. Or perhaps, Yellow thought, she had simply changed her car.

Then one day, Boss found Yellow wandering around a blue car near the house.
“Hey, Yellow… that’s not her red car. It belongs to the lady next door.”
Yellow looked slightly embarrassed, but he tried to act calm.
“I know, Boss. I just thought… maybe she had changed her car.”
Boss laughed.
“So, she still hasn’t returned from the Caribbean resort?”
Yellow stared at the car for a moment.
“She must be working hard. Maybe she misses me too.”
Boss looked at Yellow and asked quietly,
“But… has she ever called you?”
Yellow froze for a moment.
Then he looked away, pretending not to hear.
Some questions hurt more than silence.
Still Waiting
