Black Leaves on Official Business
Yellow Cat Story 68 begins with Black waking up from a well-earned nap and immediately asking the most important question in the house.
Where is Yellow?
Madam explains that Yellow had been looking for money. Apparently, he needed to buy fried shrimp and somehow convinced Madam to lend him the cash she had planned to spend at the coffee shop.
Then Yellow disappeared.
Black hears one phrase and instantly becomes alert.
Fried shrimp.
She remembers smelling it near the wine bar street.
That is enough evidence for Black to launch another investigation.
The Patrol Takes a Strange Turn
Black announces that she is going on patrol.
Very official.
Very serious.
Very classified.
There is only one small problem.
She starts walking in the wrong direction.
Madam calls after her and points out that the wine bar is the other way.
Then comes the dangerous question.
Did Black finally get Church Guy’s door code?
For a moment, the neighborhood’s most experienced intelligence officer has no answer.
Black insists that this is simply a classified patrol.
Of course it is.
Yellow Has His Own Complaint
While Black is busy with national-security-level neighborhood surveillance, Yellow has a completely different crisis.
Subscribers.
Yellow approaches Boss with the seriousness of a man requesting an emergency board meeting.
He believes he has worked very hard for the channel.
There was Lipstick Girl.
There was the fight.
There was Madam.
There were romantic disasters, suspicious nights, and enough “private business” to fill several official reports.
And yet, Yellow says, the subscribers are not arriving fast enough.
The Salary Negotiation
Yellow’s complaint soon becomes a salary negotiation.
According to him, he has suffered enough for the channel to deserve better compensation.
Boss reminds him of one important fact.
Yellow gets fed.
Boss even lent him money for the coffee shop.
That should have ended the discussion.
Instead, Yellow suddenly becomes suspicious.
Coffee shop?
Why is Boss going to the coffee shop?
Who is there?
For once, Boss becomes the person under investigation.
Yellow clearly enjoys the change of roles.
Everybody Is Busy
This household has become extremely complicated.
Black has classified patrols.
Yellow has private business.
Madam operates an unofficial information desk.
And Boss somehow ends up responsible for feeding everyone, financing coffee-shop operations, and increasing subscriber numbers.
Nobody accepts responsibility for anything.
Everyone has questions.
Everyone has secrets.
And everyone is apparently very busy.
Yellow finally decides that Boss’s personal affairs are no longer important.
There is a bigger problem.
“Just worry about the subscribers.” 😹
