Yellow Answers the Emergency Call
Yellow Cat Story 36 begins when Yellow receives alarming news from the wine bar Madam. According to her, a terrible fight has broken out and someone may be in serious danger.
Yellow does not stop to verify the story. Verification is for ordinary cats. Heroes run first and ask questions later.
Within seconds, Yellow is on the move, convinced that only his courage, speed, and extensive experience with suspicious wine bar situations can save the day.
A Hero Without a Fact Check
Yellow races toward the scene, already imagining how the story will be told later. He will arrive at the perfect moment, stop the fight, rescue the victim, and return home as the undisputed hero of the wine bar alley.
Then he hears noises from behind the door.
At first, Yellow assumes the situation is even worse than Madam described. He listens carefully, preparing himself for danger. But the sounds do not resemble a serious argument for very long.
The heroic rescue mission suddenly begins to feel much less heroic.
The Rescue Mission Falls Apart
Yellow waits for the perfect moment to charge in. But the longer he listens, the stranger the “fight” sounds.
There is no crashing furniture, no desperate cry for help, and no terrified victim calling his name. Instead, the voices behind the door sound suspiciously calm—perhaps even friendly.
Yellow’s heroic posture slowly collapses. He begins to realize that the wine bar Madam may have described the situation with a little too much imagination.
Once again, Yellow has arrived ready to save the day before confirming that the day actually needed saving.
Boss Asks the Obvious Question
Yellow finally returns, tired, embarrassed, and considerably less heroic than when he left.
Boss asks what happened. Yellow explains that the wine bar Madam said there had been a huge fight, so naturally he rushed over to help. In Yellow’s version, this was still a brave and responsible decision.
Boss pauses, then delivers the only question that matters:
“…And you believed her again?”
Yellow has no answer.
This is not the first emergency Madam has reported, and it is probably not the first one that existed mainly in her imagination. Yet somehow, Yellow still responds every time as though he has been personally summoned by destiny.
The rescue failed, the hero returned empty-handed, and the wine bar Madam has once again successfully managed Yellow’s schedule.
