Yellow Begins the Search
Yellow Cat Story 41 begins with Yellow looking unusually serious. Black is missing, and he claims he has spent the entire day searching for her.
He checks the neighborhood, studies every corner, and reports each stop as though he is leading an official rescue operation.
Boss listens carefully.
At first, Yellow sounds devoted. Perhaps he is finally worried about Black. Perhaps all those arguments, investigations, and travel restrictions have made him realize how important she is.
Then Yellow begins listing the places he searched.
A Very Suspicious Route
Yellow went to the wine bar alley.
Then he checked the fish market.
After that, he visited the chicken street, the cosmetics shop, and even the perfume store.
Each location sounds less connected to Black than the one before it.
Black does not spend her afternoons selecting perfume. She does not wander through cosmetic shops, and she certainly does not wait near the wine bar hoping Yellow will appear.
Boss begins to understand that this is not a search route.
It is a memory tour.
Black Never Goes There
Boss finally interrupts:
“Black doesn’t go to places like that.”
Yellow pauses.
He explains that a good search must be thorough. A responsible cat checks every possible location, including places the missing cat has never visited.
The excuse sounds almost logical—until Boss notices one important detail.
Every place on Yellow’s list is connected to another woman.
The wine bar.
The perfume.
The cosmetics.
The favorite food stalls.
Yellow may be searching, but his route seems guided by a very different set of memories.
Who Are His Eyes Looking For?
Boss looks directly at Yellow and asks the question he has been avoiding:
“Tell me, Yellow… who are your eyes really looking for?”
Yellow lowers his head.
A moment ago, he was a devoted partner searching desperately for Black. Now he looks like a cat caught retracing the Lipstick Girl’s favorite route.
He has no explanation for why his search never included Black’s usual places.
No wall.
No sofa.
No food bowl.
No familiar sleeping corner.
Yellow searched everywhere Black never goes.
Perhaps he was not looking for Black at all.
