Yellow Rewrites the Fight
Yellow Cat Story 35 begins with Yellow giving Boss the official report of yesterday’s battle. According to him, the other cat landed one lucky hit—and then everything changed.
Yellow claims he immediately took control. He chased, blocked, intimidated, and completely dominated his opponent. By the end of the story, the defeated cat is probably recovering in a hospital while Yellow stands proudly as the neighborhood champion.
There is only one problem: Yellow is still trembling while telling the story.
The Neighborhood Champion
Yellow continues polishing the story until it sounds less like a street fight and more like a military victory.
The opponent was fast, he admits—but not fast enough. Yellow says he controlled every corner, predicted every move, and ended the battle with what he proudly calls “total domination.”
Boss listens without interrupting. That silence gives Yellow even more confidence.
By the time he finishes, the other cat is no longer simply defeated. According to Yellow, he is probably lying in a hospital bed, warning everyone never to challenge the great neighborhood champion again.
The Truth Behind the Trembling
Then Yellow’s brave voice becomes a little quieter.
He admits that the fight itself may not be the biggest problem. The real danger is waiting much closer to home: Black.
Yellow remembers the way she watched him, the silence before her questions, and—most alarming of all—the sound of her sharpening her claws. Suddenly, the fearless neighborhood champion looks much less heroic.
The other cat may be in the hospital. Yellow, meanwhile, is still calculating the safest distance from Black.
Black Ends the Victory Speech
Black finally looks at Yellow and asks the one question his heroic report cannot survive:
“If you won… why are you still shaking?”
Yellow freezes.
A moment earlier, he was describing total domination, a defeated rival, and a possible hospital visit. Now even his tail seems unwilling to support the story.
Yellow considers several answers. Perhaps the weather is cold. Perhaps champions shake after battle. Perhaps this is simply excess victory leaving the body.
Black waits.
In the end, Yellow says nothing. The neighborhood champion may have rewritten the fight—but Black has just edited the final sentence.
