Yellow Starts a Battle Alone
Yellow Cat Story 34 begins with Yellow pacing confidently in front of Black. He walks past the sofa again and again, making sure she notices him.
Black barely moves.
Yellow interprets her silence as fear. Perhaps she is intimidated. Perhaps she finally understands that he is a powerful and independent cat. Encouraged by his own imagination, Yellow continues the performance.
Unfortunately, Black is not impressed. She is simply resting—and Yellow has somehow started a competition that exists only in his head.
Black Refuses to Participate
Yellow keeps circling the room, waiting for Black to react. A warning, a hiss, even one irritated glance would be enough to confirm that the contest has officially begun.
But Black gives him nothing.
She remains comfortably stretched across the sofa, watching Yellow spend more energy with every dramatic lap. Her silence becomes unbearable. Yellow came prepared for an argument, yet Black has defeated his entire strategy by refusing to join it.
This is not the heroic confrontation Yellow imagined. It is one cat relaxing while another cat slowly exhausts himself.
Yellow Runs Out of Confidence
Yellow tries one final tactic: acting completely unconcerned. He walks away, checks the food, and pretends that Black’s silence means nothing to him.
But the performance is becoming difficult to maintain. His confident steps grow slower, his dramatic patrol loses direction, and eventually he collapses onto the floor as though he has survived a great battle.
Black is still on the sofa.
She has not chased him, argued with him, or even left her comfortable seat. Somehow, Yellow has done all the fighting, all the running, and all the losing by himself.
Black Announces the Winner
Black finally looks down from the sofa and studies the exhausted cat on the floor.
Yellow had entered the room like a champion. He strutted, circled, posed, and waited for a reaction. Black did absolutely nothing—and somehow that was enough.
Her final judgment is calm and merciless:
“He lost. How embarrassing…”
Yellow does not answer. There is no excuse available for losing a fight that never actually happened.
Black settles back into her comfortable seat. Yellow remains on the floor, defeated by silence, exhaustion, and his own unnecessary confidence.
