Black Hears the Truth
Black had been watching quietly from the tree, wondering where Yellow had gone.
When she finally asked Madam, the answer was not what she wanted to hear. Yellow had reportedly been seen near the bar beside the fish shop—and he was not alone.
Yellow Was Not Alone
Madam said Yellow had been seen beside the fish shop, sitting near the bar with another female cat.
Black remained still for a moment. She had heard Yellow’s apologies before, but this new story made every excuse sound meaningless.
Some habits, she thought, never really change.
Men Can’t Be Fixed
Black listened without saying a word.
Then she looked away, as if the answer had confirmed what she already knew: some tomcats apologize, disappear, and repeat the same story all over again.
Men Can’t Be Fixed, Black Decides
Black did not chase after Yellow or demand another explanation.
She simply stayed in the tree, calm and unimpressed. Yellow could bring flowers, make promises, and tell everyone how sorry he was—but trust would not return so easily.
Perhaps Yellow believed he could change.
Black was no longer waiting to find out.
